“A 100mph whirlwind….Brilliant”- The Manchester Evening News
Dan Nightingale is one of the best performers found on the comedy circuit today. Mixing fiendishly accurate observation with energetic characterisations and killer punch lines his comedy is original, playful, intelligent, exciting and sometimes ridiculous, but always hilarious.
Fresh out of University in the early Noughties, Dan started working behind the bar in a local comedy club and already the seeds for his future career where sown. He took to the stage for the first time only a few months later and found himself catapulted to the forefront of the comedy scene.
One of stand-ups brightest stars. a natural on stage, a total original and one of comedy’s most exciting secrets. Dan combines cutting observation with his natural playfulness, raucous banter with beautiful surrealness, and great gags with heart felt ramblings. His comedy is genuine, creative, honest, unpredictable, original and above all… funny as hell.
“Fantastic…He has it in him to be another Kitson or Noble.” Metro
Having previously performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Josie Long, Dan showcased his solo debut show ‘Geronimo’ in 2008, which was extremely well received. Having enjoyed such success, Dan took his second show “The 11 and a 1/2 Ill Conceived Edinburgh Shows of Dan Nightingale,” in 2012 to widespread critical acclaim. Audiences clamoured to the Pleasance Dome to see this hilarious showcase of ‘industry centric genre slapping’ also receiving multiple 5 and 4 star reviews from the press. He has already begun work on a show for 2013 for what will surely be a triumphant return.
A highly respected and experienced MC/headline act, he is constantly in demand from the circuits most prestigious clubs and comedy nights. Like the jewel in a comedic crown, Nightingale adds a touch of class to any line-up.
